Meet Nicole

It has been my honor to grow up and live in Woodbury and it has shaped the person I am today. I have always given back, from volunteering to military service, and I want to see our neighborhoods and all of Minnesota thrive.

I will continue that commitment to building a strong community where everyone has the opportunity to flourish.

Thank you for your support!
~Nicole

Priorities

📊Making science-based decisions: As a scientist herself, Nicole will work with experts to understand problems and make sound decisions, not political ones. During her legislative work, she co-authored bills to prevent furter PFAS contamination to our water and served as a member of Minnesota’s Clean Water Council. With her background in climate and water protection, she will protect our resources and build on the work the city has already done to keep our water clean. This includes halting any additional AI data centers in Woodbury without public input.

đź’˛Keeping costs low: As costs rise, property tax increases put an additional burden on working families.
From 2023-2025, among other investments and tax savings, Nicole helped secure state funds of $7.5m for the Central Park renovation and $3.3m in public safety investments…money saved from coming out of property taxes. She will continue to leverage state and federal funding opportunities while ensuring fiscal responsibility in how Woodbury spends your tax dollars.

ℹ️Greater transparency: Getting information on city decisions and where elected officials stand on issues should be easy. Nicole supports open meetings, a 4 year retention of city council videos (currently only 4 months), and minimizing the use of “consent agendas” which reduce public engagement. She is always willing to explain issues and hear feedback from community members.
Here is a link to information about Woodbury’s open meeting violation in 2023. Nicole proposes putting safeguards in place to ensure violations like this do not happen in the future. https://www.startribune.com/state-woodbury-city-council-violated-open-meetings-law-sro-east-ridge-woodbury-high-school-resource/600321674

🏡Better representation: Residents deserve council members who advocate for them and their neighborhoods. Nicole will listen, show up, and assist those wanting to engage with the city.
This includes believing Woodbury City Council needs to transition from “at large” council members to wards, so all areas of Woodbury would have a local council member to speak up on their behalf. Woodbury is the largest city in all of Minnesota that does not have wards. Nicole first approached city administrators in 2023 about wards, and when she was told that Woodbury needing to become a charter city to have wards was a barrier, she helped change the law in 2024 so that charter status was no longer required, thus paving the way for better representation in Woodbury.
