HOMEGROWN
Nicole was raised in Woodbury, graduated from Woodbury H.S. and later the University of Minnesota. She moved back home to Woodbury to raise her family and is deeply committed to ensuring our community is a great place to live.
”The people, love of the outdoors, and wonderful public schools are just a few of the things that make this area so special. I can’t imagine raising my family anywhere else.” -
VETERAN
Nicole is an active, third-generation military member with more than 29 years of service to her name. She serves as a Commander in the National Guard, and spent 16 of her service years as a Hurricane Hunter, flying into deadly storms to collect critical data. As a veteran herself, Nicole is committed to ensuring our veterans get the support they deserve, including access to quality healthcare.*
“My mother, stepfather, and both of my grandfathers served. Serving my country has given me the opportunity to help keep our citizens safe, and now as a Commander, I get to ensure an inclusive environment where servicemembers can grow in their careers.”
-
SCIENTIST
Nicole has spent years studying and educating others about climate change in her role as a professional meteorologist. Nicole grew up hiking and camping throughout Minnesota, and she is passionate about protecting our environment – especially our water resources.
“Minnesota is one of the most beautiful states in the country, and we value the natural splendor of the state, including our water resources. But, if the past year taught us anything, from devastating droughts to historic December tornadoes, the time is now to address climate change.”
-
MOTHER
Nicole is a single mother with one child in District 833 and another entering this Fall of 2022. She strongly believes in quality, fully funded public education and safe schools. And because she understands the majority of brain development occurs before age 3, Nicole is a strong supporter of Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), which helps to ensure every child gets off to a strong, healthy start.
-
FOSTER PARENT
Nicole is a dedicated foster parent, serving children from 1 month to 16 years old, including caring and advocating for special needs children.
”Every child deserves equal access to quality education. That’s why I will fight to fully fund our public schools.” -
ADVOCATE
Nicole helped create and teach a Diversity and Inclusion program within the military. She believes everyone should be treated with dignity and respect, and she is committed to working toward a more just and equitable Minnesota.
-
VOLUNTEER
